NAFD is pleased to be able to make Certainty Will search available to the public through our new dedicated website www.certainty.org.uk/nafd. We believe that this is a highly valuable and extremely relevant service when facing a difficult time and dealing with a bereavement.
If you don’t know where the deceased’s Will is, then a search with professional bodies who may have written a Will local to where they lived should be conducted to try and locate it – as it may contain specific directions concerning their funeral wishes.
Certainty the National Will Register can facilitate this search for you. A search for registered Wills and unregistered Wills can be carried out quickly, easily and simply using their online services.
If you are in possession of a Will you will want to make sure that it is the last Will before proceeding to distribute the estate.
If you do not believe that the deceased made a Will then you will need to be in a position to show that you have used your best endeavours to back this up.
A Certainty Will Search can assist by giving clarity in this respect, allowing you to proceed on a well informed basis. A Certainty Will search can provide proof that you used your best endeavours to ascertain that the Will you are in possession of is the last Will, or that the deceased died intestate (i.e without a Will).
Certainty the National Will Register, provider of Will Registration and Will Search services in the UK, is chosen, endorsed and used by the legal profession, law firms, PI insurers, Government agencies, charities, the public and other associated sectors and organisations.
